CLASSROOM POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Parents As Partners: Parents please view my website, Infinite Campus and Google Classroom to stay informed of all class activities and assignments.
Progress Reports: Semester progress reports shall be issued four and a half, nine and thirteen and a half weeks into each semester. The progress of students shall be evaluated frequently and plans shall be generated to remediate deficiencies as they are discovered. Plans shall include appropriate interventions designed to meet the needs of the students. See Board Policy IH.
Classroom Expectations: Students are expected to adhere to the DCSS Student Code of Conduct, as well as, specific class rules. Success in class is dependent upon student preparedness. Students are expected to be on time to class. Students are expected to show respect and courtesy to all people in the class at all times. Cheating of any kind will result in a grade of zero. This includes, but is not limited to, cheat sheets, plagiarism, or talking during a quiz/test. Consequences for noncompliance with these expectations will result in a verbal warning, morning detention, parent contact, and written referral to the assistant principal. Any extreme, repetitious, or violent behavior will immediately result in a referral to the assistant principal and a request for a team conference with parent will be initiated.
Academic Integrity: Students will not engage in an act of academic dishonesty including, but not limited to, cheating, providing false information, falsifying school records, forging signatures, or using an unauthorized computer user ID or password. See the Code of Student Conduct - Student Rights and Responsibilities and Character Development Handbook.
Makeup Work Due to Absences: When a student is absent because of a legal reason as defined by Georgia law or when the absence is apparently beyond the control of the student, the student shall be given an opportunity to earn grade(s) for those days absent. Make-up work must be completed within the designated time allotted. See Board Policy IHEA.
Extra Help: Tutorials are on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 2:00pm-3:00pm.
